An image based narrative on the trek up to the Roof of Africa, the mountain of Kilimanjaro.

I have just released my book on Kilimanjaro, the trek that takes you up the highest peak in Africa. Several routes can lead you there, all of which are trekking with no climbing involved. If you wish, you can find climbing on the mountain, but that is not what I describe in my guide to the mountain. This book is for everyone who think they might undertake the ascent of this beautiful mountain.

It is, like the my previous three books in this series (Everest Basecamp via Cho La, Annapurna Basecamp via Gorepani and Poon Hill, and Baltoro and K2 Basecamp Trek) an image based narrative meaning that there are a lot of beautiful pictures from the trip in this book and the text is kept at a minimum and is only there to explain and support the pictures. Anyway, there is a map and a day by day description of the routes that can be taken with guidance on how to tackle the altitude, some information about equipment, and as a bonus a lot of information on the nature you are passing through on the way.

Through these images you will get an insight into the course of the trek and the amazing experience this beautiful but also challenging trip will give you. The book can be used both to prepare you for your own trip or as a memory of the incredible experience it is to trek through some of the most imposing surroundings in the world.

You can buy the book from Amazon.co.uk here, from Amazon.de here, or directly from the publisher Books on Demand here.
