I just bought a large format camera to experiment with larger format negatives and roll film adapters for wide screen images. It’s actually not the first time I have owned such a camera. When I was around 20 years I had a Toyo large format camera, I don’t remember exactly which model, but as I remember I took less than 50 photos with it in total before I decided that was to cumbersome for me. But things have changed and I have come to the conclusion that it’s time to try it out again.

It’s not the most fancy camera, but you have to start (restart that is) somewhere 🙂 I bought the Sinar Alpina, which is one of the cheapest cameras of this type you can buy. I got it together with 13 double sided 4×5″ film sheet holders, a Rodenstock Sironar N f5.6 180mm and a wide angle bellows for 280 euro. I think that quite a good deal, don’t tell me if I’m wrong 🙂

I’ll write updates when I have my first satisfying images to share with you.
